What Happens On Tour?

Edge has everything you need to make your abseiling adventure at the Mele Cascades Waterfall an enjoyable experience.

Your day will start with the bus picking you up from your resort or hotel and taking you 20 minutes out of town to the Mele Cascades Waterfall (All sealed roads).

At the waterfall you will be greeted by Edge’s friendly staff, who will take you to an undercover area to complete your paperwork, lock away all unneeded personal items and to fit you into your personal safety equipment.

After a short instruction period the staff will guide you to the top of the waterfall. Medium level of fitness is recommended, if you can walk 4 flights of stairs then you will be able to make it to the top of the waterfall.

On the way to the top of the Waterfall you will stop for a drink break at Edge’s own lookout that gives you uninterrupted 180 degree views of Efate Island and Mele Bay.Then just a small walk to the abseiling practice site.

At the practice site you will receive group instruction and safety briefs followed by 1-on-1 instruction. The practice cliff is 8 meters and at the bottom there is a swimming hole with its own little waterfall. Once Edge staff believes everyone is ready, then you will move onto the main waterfall abseil.

The Main waterfall is 50 meters, done in two 25 meters abseils. The first 25 meters you will be besides the waterfall not getting too wet passing a cave hidden behind the waterfall. Then on your last 25 meters you will be in the waterfall getting nice and wet in the tropical rainforest waters of Vanuatu finishing in chest deep swimming hole.

Then is it is a 15 minute walk down hill back to the entrance where you will receive tropical fruit refreshments and drinks and a chance to buy

Souvenirs of your experience. Then your bus will transfer you back to your resort.
